Keep an eye out for our quarterly seminars. Every January, April, July and October, Sifu Juan M. Meza will host be hosting seminars at the Whittier Dap Ga Kung Fu San Soo studio.

 Seminar Saturday November 8th, 2003 

In Part One of this Three Part Series. Master Juan Meza will teach a group of drills accompanied by specific baton techniques that incorporate each of the movements. Master Meza's knowledge of the baton is well known and respected in the San Soo community so you will not want to miss this opportunity.

Master Dale Garrison will cover basic defenses against common ground techniques that will allow you to effectively deal with opponents who try to shoot in on you, place you in armbar and triangle locks and if time permits show you some escapes from chokes.

 Seminar Saturday June 21st, 2003 

Master Juan Meza will cover the basic principles on blocking that year after year students everywhere are having trouble with. Including the so called top belts. Getting rid of that studio mentality blocking that makes you practice studio only effective blocking.

Master Michael Rockwell will teach this classic Chinese weapon also known as the dao or knife. It is one of the first weapons taught in most traditional kung fu systems. Correct understanding of the principals and applications of any weapon are the most important factors to proper form and function.

Master Scott Voelker will cover some basic concepts that will prove out basic in theory and application but devastating in results and will advance your effectiveness. His ability and understanding of San Soo will give you the answers to many problems you have encountered.

Master Juan Meza will give his perspective on the pros and cons of mirroring a technique. Your opponent may be skilled, but you will learn an array of methods that will help you fight another fighter. Come and learn how to become a fighter amongst fighters.

Master Scott Voelker: will be cover spins and transitions and concepts for incorporating the cha into forms you are already familiar with. Improve your forms by learning to develop the appropriate mechanics behind the cha.

Master Tae Ho Shin will teach rooting and foundation principles necessary for executing throwing techniques in defensive and offensive situations.

 Seminar Saturday June 30th, 2001 

Lo Sifu Chin Siu Dek used to say, "Use your mind to control your body." Master Juan M. Meza will explore what he meant by this and how you can use this idea to further your development.

 Hands On Seminar Saturday July 29th, 2000 

Master Juan M. Meza will teach how you might survive a knife attack and the proper mindset to add into your training that will increase your chances for street survival.

Master Scott Voelker will explain various ways to get more effective results in your leverage techniques by holding with your hands and driving with your legs.
