hello, I would like to know how effective Kung Fu San soo is in the streets. Can anyone please tell me some real world stories or examples of Kung Fu San Soo applied to real self-defense as it occurs in real life. I have heard too many stories about the ineffectiveness of kung fu styles as applied in the real world. I don't know who to believe. Some true stories of KFSS used in the streets might help. Thank you. From Lome boy.

I have recently started training at the Dap Ga San Soo - Whittier School after a suggestion made by a friend and co-worker as a great way to get into shape while learning a very effective art. This friend (Tom Smith) studied under TONY FELIZ at the East Los Angeles School (around the late 60's to early 70's) along with another man named Jack (no last name given). He has made many comments about how great it would be to touch base with some old friends if he could only find them. Computers are not his thing, so in an attempt to put a smile on a friends face and repay him for a great suggestion that lead me to San Soo, I am asking for any information that might put me in contact with Tony, Jack or any of the other regulars that he might have known. Thank you in advance for any help possible.

In Loving Memory and a special thanks to Master Fred Mead. He not only started teaching me at a very young age he was also my grand father. He began teaching me in the garage of his own home. He will always hold a very special place in my heart and be missed dearly!

I am the Daughter of James Paluzzi. James trained with Gordy Barrette, Dave Simmons, Tim, Dennis McClullen, Greg Drewette, Bob and Linda Hemminger, and so on. Now that was a WOO DYNASTY. They were all taught by Al Ruben who died very suddenly from Lukemia which no one new he had. I would love to get in touch with anyone who trained with or knew my Father. I lost contact with him shortly after my Grandmother (his Mother) passed on in 1988. His where abouts are unknown to me as they have been for many years. If you knew or trained with my Father James Paluzzi or know where he is today, PLEASE CONTACT ME.... my email is kimberlybrown5@hotmail.com or my cell phone is 909-554-9296 Thank You

As a Police Officer in Tx, I have been taught how to defend myself. What Master Dale Lockwood of Kung Fu San Soo in Bedford,Tx has done is take that to another level. I know first hand what this martial art can do to an opponent who chooses to be uncooperative

Hi. I wanted to comment on the volume of entries regarding Gordy Barrett. Gordy was a Master in the San Bernardino area in the 80's and early 90's. I was one of his students for a very long time. He was incredibly good..beyond words. I've since worked with other reputable masters on Jimmy's front line, but I must say that I'd do just about anything to find where Gordy went to. Everyone wants to know. If you know anything, please reply- Thanks.

Hello all, I trained under Gordy Barrett from the age of 13 in the kids class to age 22 when I left for grad school. I was a third degree black belt at the time. Are there any san soo practitioners in the Seattle area? Wouldn't mind the occasional refresher workout to see how much muscle memory is left. (Its been about 15 years) I really do miss Kung Fu and all of my old friends at the studio. Anyone heard from Gordy?
